Samsung Galaxy S3
As with any new phone that is nearing its release date, there is certainly no shortage of speculation and rumors surrounding the Samsung Galaxy S3. For a while, there was a rumor going around that just maybe, we might get to see a quad-core processor, but that was dispelled by a leaked presentation slide. Now we can know what for sure the Samsung Galaxy S3 is going to have in terms of hardware thanks to 1.8 GHz with 2 GB of RAM, along with 32 GB of memory for the user to store things like contacts, photos and videos.
Samsung Galaxy S3 vs iPhone 4S
It is pretty obvious that Samsung is gunning straight for the iPhone 4S when you look at these specs. They could’ve gone overboard with the hardware that was put into the phone, but something was holding them back, and it was almost certainly the release of the iPhone 4S. For now, all Samsung has to compete with the iPhone 4S is the Galaxy Nexus, which is a good phone, but when the Galaxy S3 is released, the S3 will take the title of Samsung’s flagship phone. The styling of the S3 also bears a striking resemblance to that of the Galaxy Nexus, so the inspiration in the design department is certainly obvious.
Samsung Galaxy S3 specs
Another big selling point of the Samsung Galaxy S3 is going to be its particularly powerful camera, which is expected to be rated at an impressive 12MP. This is a 50% increase on both the forward facing cameras found on the iPhone 4S and the Galaxy Nexus, rated at just 8MP. Naturally, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is going to run on Android 4.0, aka Ice Cream Sandwich. The debate of Android vs. iOS has really heated up in recent months, and a lot of experts are speculating that with Ice Cream Sandwich, Android will once and for all take the title of King of the mobile operating systems. It will certainly be interesting to see how it pans out.
For the old rumors go; here

Yet, we don’t see any rumors on improving battery life.
Sorry but the 12MP camera is just ridiculous, although I do take pictures, I don’t use a mobile phone just to take pictures, and 8MP are just enough.
They should forget about all these silly features and instead spend that time to work and innovate battery life. Release a phone that lasts 3 days on moderate use and you just got yourself the BETS selling point in history.
Phone companies should start thinking about that instead of trying to compete on releasing ridiculous features, what’s next? a 50 MP camera? COme on.
IMPROVE BATTER LIFE. Forget the rest.
Correct, but with all the new phones and people, bigger is better. Mega pixels is now a silly way to check the quality of the camera and is used as a market ploy by the big giants. With the bigger screen also comes with hampered battery life which is why the Galaxy S2′s battery life was not as good compared to that of the iPhone 4S’s as the screen size difference is huge.
if you know how to turn off the apps then you save battery. if you have a Samsung galaxy s it has built in task app..also turn of the sync u have to explore know ur phone before u say shit…and if there is update go update ur phone if you don’t like the 12 mpx idea then ur missing out of technology. if you are not willing to understand then just buy and iphone or rim.
Well almost: Nokia releasing a 41MP camera to try to capture a market share…
Gunning for the iPhone4S? More like the iPhone5. By the time this device is released, speculated to be around march, Apple will undoubtedly be prepping their iPhone5 and getting it ready for release, if It hasn’t already been released.
I certainly hope that with the new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich thay bring new and better voice command actions, like the iOS Siri.
This, aligned with all the Samsung Galaxy SIII predicted specs (12MP Camera, 2GB memory, etc), would create the all round perfect phone, beating the iPhone 4S and even, most probably, the iPhone 5!
I’ve the S2 and I cannot wait for the S3 I love this phone so much n my boyfriend is getting the note we love Samsung. I’ve used iphones n don’t really like them. id love a bigger battery but I can’t wait to see the new camera as I love taking pictures and the android 4.0 can’t wait to see what its like. its all about opinion and I find Samsung the better of phones. sorry x
SGS3 gunning for the iphone4s? No, SGS2 has already beaten that. SGS3 is the next gen device designed to trump the iphone5, Apple will be gunning for the 3 with iphone5.
Improved battery life is indeed required for the new Galaxy SIII. The Galaxy S2 is a superb phone but it is hampered by a battery that will barely last 12 hours if you lucky. Also putting in faster and faster processors will also drain battery life as well.
8mp is good enough for any smart phone unless the sensor is made larger. 12mp on a small sensor is not an indicator of quality. If anything Samsung should make the camera sensor bigger and stick with 8mp. Resolution (pixel count) has nothing to do with picture quality.Unfortunately, it’s all a myth because the number of megapixels (MP) a camera has has very little to do with how the image looks. Even worse, plenty of lower MP sensors can make better images than poorer sensors with more MP. So Samsung should concentrate on sensor quality than simply doubleing the MP.
I love my S2 so please please
1. Do not make the S3 any bigger..
2. Improve the battery (I get 1.5 days of mixed moderate use)
3. Forget the gimmicks (3D, 12MP camera)

Bigger really isn’t better when we’re talking about ‘mobile’ phones and I think if the speculation of an jump to a 4.6″ screen holds true – reflecting in a larger casing, it will cost them sales dearly.
The majority of us want the promise of features and power, but not if the thing continues to grow..and the S2 is already at the limit of what you can reasonably be expected to carry in the pocket. Single handed thumb typing is a real stretch.
Just one point, Why would Apple call their SIXTH iphone the iphone 5? The only previous iphones to correspond to their respective numbers were the first, albeit was just called iphone, and the 4th one. we already have an iphone 5, its called the 4s. the next one may be called 6 or it may be called 4G, but it wont be called 5.
If Apple’s marketing dept thinks that it makes sense to go from 4 to 4S to 4G then they need a new marketing dept.
The smart money is on iphone5
Nice phone, I have the current I_Phone 4s and the Galaxy S2, and the I-Phone isnt as good…. what a let down.
Glad to see the S3 when It comes out probably wont get this one, but hey nice to see a droid serve to an I-fail
First of all, they are making bigger screen so that you can play blueray quality in the phone. Then faster processor doesnt mean that it will consume more battery, cause if you use more cores(quad core) you actually save battery.
